WELDE Poplar Film Face

We at Universal Plywoods are proud to announce our partnership and agency of the WELDE Group’s film face plywood range. WELDE is a brand name synonymous with quality and we believe it is the best Poplar Film Face panel produced in the world today. Poplar is a stable timber, strong in MOE and MOR and lies flat on the deck. Engineered correctly, a Poplar Film Face panel is similar in strength, properties and characteristics to that of a Birch panel.

Base Board:

Engineered solely out of hardwood Poplar veneers, bonded together in a cross banded construction.

Bonding:

Phenolic resin adhesive cross-bonded weather resistant gluing according to EN 314 bonding class 3, suitable for exterior applications, all glue lines are tried and tested WBP (Water Boil Proof).

Surface and edges:

Face & reverse:  A dark brown Dynea quality Phenolic resin impregnated into both faces with the WELDE logo printed on for easy identification.

Edge sealing:  Water resistant epoxy based paint.

Applications & comments:

Horizontal formwork and vertical formwork. Concrete surfaces to a very high specification and an excellent off-shutter finish. A very respectable number of re-uses will be achieved, likely to last in the range of 10-30 uses if professionally handled with respect to stripping practices, cleaning and release agent treatment.
